Recently I attended the Rainforest World Music Festival (RWMF) held at Sarawak Cultural Village near Kuching in Borneo – East Malaysia. Not many here in India even knew where Sarawak was or for that matter Borneo too.
Borneo Island happens to be the 3rd largest island in the world.
Kuching – popularly known as the The Cat City – is the capital of Sarawak State in East Malaysia.
This charming Riverfront city is waiting to be discovered by Indian Tourists. And with Lowcost Airlines like AirAsia offering unbelievably low fares to fly within Malaysia I strongly recommend visitors to Malaysia to look beyond the Malls of Kuala Lumpur.
In all probability I was the only Indian National visiting Sarawak.
I am not the “Leisure” Tourist type. So during the daytimes – the RWMF Music Concerts were in the evenings – I did things like River Kayaking, Speed Boating, Trekking and also visited places like Orang-Utan center and Crocodile Farm.
Sarawak ( and the adjoining Stae of Sabah) is a treat for nature and wild life lovers.
This post aims to showcase the extremely romantic Riverfront of Kuching,
Will continue my gushings about Sarawak with more snaps in coming posts. Hope you enjoyed this one.
